Year 6 Team Building Activity

At the end of this Term we took part in a Year 6 Team building challenge in the Auditorium.  We had to work together to build a bridge that was wide enough for a ball to pass through and strong enough to hold a dictionary.

Email To Kings

Dear Nick and Miss Tizard.

First of all we would like to thank you for sending us this letter.
We learnt a lot about pollution from reading your letter.  We learned that we are under a huge hole in the Ozone Layer.  We also learned how we need to wear two layers of sunscreen when it's really sunny outside instead of one!  We think that it was an interesting book that you read about pollution and that you learned a lot from reading it.  We are hoping that you will enjoy reading our letter about what we have been learning about …….soil.

At school we have been learning about soil and how it keeps us alive.  Soil is like our life, because without soil we wouldn’t be living right now.  Did you know that soil is like the skin of our Earth, like humans have skin?  Without soil there would be no food and there would be chaos.  We don’t want to have that.  But with soil, we will be healthy and we will be eating healthy food.  Soil also  helps plants and trees grow so that we can have oxygen to breath.

We hope you have learnt a lot about soil from our letter.  Now help us take care of the soil because it is our life support.  We hope you enjoyed our letter like we enjoyed yours.

Yours Sincerely.

Andrei, Sage, Seth and Hemi

About The Artist

About the Artist

Sage is 10 years old and was born in 2004. His birthday is on November the 4th and he lives in Auckland. He is a year 6 and the school he goes to Elm Park School. He has been attending school for 6 years. His favourite subjects are P.E Cross Country and Art.

Sage enjoyed doing the blending in colours and the finishing off vanish because it was standing out after the vanish. He had to mix colours to blend all of them in. He mostly like the vanish because it was to do.

In Art the school values that Sage used was perseverance, quality and initiative. Sage used these because he never gave up, he did hard work and he went to go get his art work himself.

When Sage grows up he wants to do Sky Diving or join the Army.

Learning Reflection

I am learning to write in the third person.
I am so proud of being able to write in the third person as this was new for me.
It can be tricky to remember to use words like he and him.
My Teacher of buddy could help me with this.
The next step for me in my learning is to write in the second person.
